The Grausten small pillar is for spans that do not need a full column. It costs one block of Grausten, stands half a metre square and a metre tall, and is listed under Supports. It carries a balcony rail, props the end of a short beam or lines a wall as blind decoration, all without the bulk of a proper pier in the way.

How to Build It

One block of Grausten builds it, and a Stonecutter has to be in range for placing and for any repair afterwards. They stack cleanly on top of one another, which is the cheapest way to get a slim upright to height. Just make sure the bottom one stands on the ground or on stone, because Grausten set on a timber deck has almost nothing holding it up.
