You cannot shape a single block of Stone until this bench is standing in your yard. The Stonecutter is built from ten Wood, two Iron and four stone. It is the Crafting Stations entry that unlocks the entire stone building set, and later the Black Marble and Grausten pieces as well.
How to Build It
It costs ten Wood, two Iron and four Stone, and it has to be set down inside the radius of a Workbench, so your first one waits on a trip to the Swamp for iron. Placing stone around it needs no shelter, but crafting at the bench itself needs a roof overhead and cover on most sides. It repairs stonework as well as raising it, so leave it standing once the walls are up instead of tearing it down.
