The Wood Beam 1m is the short structural stick in the Supports section, used for bracing and detail work. It is square in section where a pole is round. A single Wood makes one, and its flat faces sit against a floor or a wall far more neatly than a round post. That makes it the usual choice for diagonal struts and the little corner braces under a balcony.

How to Build It

It costs one Wood with a Workbench in range. Short beams are for stiffening and shaping rather than spanning. A beam run at an angle keeps more of its support than the same length laid flat, so a frame with diagonals braced back to its posts reaches further than a bare one.
