Folan, son of Ulf, is a Skellige warrior of Clan Tuirseach. He is a fearless sailor and an unmatched archer. He sails with Hjalmar an Craite to slay the Ice Giant of Undvik. Geralt finds him on Undvik during the quest The Lord of Undvik.
Lore
Folan has been Hjalmar's dear friend since childhood. He has also fought at Hjalmar's side many times. When Hjalmar called for warriors to win Undvik back from the Ice Giant, Folan joined at once. The dangerous expedition promised to shower him in glory.
Story
In The Lord of Undvik, Crach an Craite asks Geralt to find his son Hjalmar, who has gone missing on Undvik. Geralt first comes across Folan. Hungry ice trolls have caught the archer and plan to cook him for dinner. Geralt can win Folan's freedom with a riddle contest against the trolls. He can also simply kill them.
Once free, Folan tells Geralt that Hjalmar's crew scattered when the giant attacked. He does not know what became of Hjalmar himself. Folan then suggests how to track the Ice Giant and joins the search. In the final fight, he riddles the giant with arrows. The deed is still told at feasts in Kaer Trolde.
If Folan survives Undvik and the struggle for the throne of Skellige, he joins Hjalmar's crew at the Battle of Kaer Morhen.
Relationships
Hjalmar an Craite is Folan's lifelong friend and frequent comrade in battle. Folan follows him from Undvik to Kaer Morhen.
