Legendary Griffin Gauntlets are the NG+ variant of the Basic Griffin Gauntlets, medium Griffin School witcher gear. They give 29 armor and +11% sign intensity at level 12. Their diagram is next to George's tomb in Dragonslayer's Grotto in Velen. They need level 11 on top of the NG+ starting level.
They also give +5% piercing, +6% slashing, +4% monster and +12% elemental resistance. Their armor rises by 2 per level. Against the regular Griffin Gauntlets, they raise sign intensity from 5% to 11% and elemental resistance from 5% to 12%.
Set Bonus
The Griffin set is medium armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 11, Enhanced at 18, Superior at 26, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. The 3-piece and 6-piece bonuses come from Grandmaster pieces worn as a school set. 3 pieces: after a sign cast in standard mode with stamina, the next sign cast within 3 seconds costs no stamina. 6 pieces: Yrden traps are 40% larger, and inside the trap stamina regeneration rises by 5 per second, sign intensity rises by 100% and damage taken drops by 20%.
How to Get Legendary Griffin Gauntlets
- In NG+, start Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear.
- Go to Dragonslayer's Grotto and take the diagram next to George's tomb, with the armor, trousers and boots diagrams.
- A journeyman armorer crafts them.
Legendary Griffin Gauntlets Map Location and Quest Guide
The Legendary Griffin Gauntlets diagram lies in a chest next to George's tomb at the end of Dragonslayer's Grotto in Velen, the resting place of the witcher George of Kagen. The pin marks the grotto, a stop of Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear. It is the New Game + counterpart of the Griffin Gauntlets diagram and lies at the same spot.
- Start Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear by finding any of its diagrams, or by buying Edwin Greloff's First Map or Second Map from the armorer in Midcopse.
- Go to Dragonslayer's Grotto and drop down into the entrance area.
- Head inside, kill the wraiths and work down the hall.
- Blast the weak wall with Aard. Clear the toxic gas clouds with Igni or Aard and kill the wraiths in the tunnel beyond.
- At the end of the tunnel, blast the rocks with Aard and kill the ekimmara behind them.
- Loot the chest with the glowing lights for the Legendary Griffin Gauntlets diagram. The other three armor diagrams of the set and Witcher George's Journal are inside too.
