Mastercrafted Griffin Boots are the Mastercrafted tier of the Griffin (Griffin School) boots, medium witcher gear from the base game. They give 77 armor and +10% sign intensity at level 34. Their diagram is at the hidden treasure marker northeast of Redgill in Skellige. These boots arrive late in the game.
They also give +4% piercing, +4% bludgeoning, +5% slashing and +3% monster resistance. Griffin gear leans on sign intensity, and the set bonuses reward casting signs, so they suit a signs build.
Against Superior Griffin Boots, they raise armor from 61 to 77 and sign intensity from 8% to 10%.
Set Bonus
The Griffin set is medium armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 11, Enhanced at 18, Superior at 26, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. The 3-piece and 6-piece bonuses come from Grandmaster pieces worn as a school set. 3 pieces: after a sign cast in standard mode with stamina, the next sign cast within 3 seconds costs no stamina. 6 pieces: Yrden traps are 40% larger, and inside the trap stamina regeneration rises by 5 per second, sign intensity rises by 100% and damage taken drops by 20%.

- Go to the cyclops ruins northeast of Redgill and take the diagram, with the armor, gauntlets and trousers diagrams.
- A master armorer crafts them from Superior Griffin Boots.
Mastercrafted Griffin Boots Map Location and Quest Guide
The Mastercrafted Griffin Boots diagram sits in a chest on the second floor of the ruins northeast of Redgill and southeast of Whale Graveyard, on Ard Skellig. The pin marks the ruins, the armor stop of Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 4. A cyclops guards them, and the same chest holds the armor, gauntlets and trousers diagrams.
- Buy Edwin Greloff's fourth map from Éibhear Hattori to start Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 4.
- Go to the ruins northeast of Redgill and southeast of Whale Graveyard.
- Kill the cyclops that guards the ruins. Mind the side open to the sea, where a fall is fatal.
- Find the griffin marker on the boulders on the north side of the ruins, and climb the boulders to the second floor.
- Step around the hole in the middle of the room.
- Search the two chests in the room. One holds the Mastercrafted Griffin Boots diagram.

Notes
In NG+ the diagram makes Mastercrafted Legendary Griffin Boots instead. They need level 34 plus the NG+ starting level and give 79 armor at level 35 (+2 per level), with +15% sign intensity.
