The Cyclops is an Ogroid, a huge brute with a single eye in the middle of its forehead. Even when that eye is out of sight, its giant size, great strength and burning hatred of all humans give it away. Cyclopses are met on Ard Skellig in Skellige, among other places.
Lore
A traveler named Odess Thaka once had a plan to beat a cyclops. He would sharpen a big stake, ram it into the cyclops' eye, then sneak out of its cave dressed as a sheep. Odess Thaka died a tragic death on Spikeroog.
Weaknesses
Coat the blade with Ogroid Oil. Keep Quen up at all times, because a single blow can take most of a health bar. Axii confuses a cyclops for a while and buys time to recover or land a few free hits.
A cyclops is one of the harder creatures to bring down. Its swings reach very far, and no block or parry can stop them. Strike once or twice, then roll to the side or behind it. A short hop back rarely clears its arms.
Watch for two attacks above all. In its charge, it runs straight ahead, swinging its arms again and again. Dodge the first swing, or the rest will follow. It can also leap into the air and come crashing down, knocking over anyone near the spot where it lands. Stand farther back than seems necessary.

A cyclops starts the secondary quest Hard Times, on Ard Skellig near the Miners' Camp. It is found by a broken cart on the road. After the fight, Witcher Senses show the broken cart and a trail of tracks leading away from it. A second body at the end of the trail carries a letter. The letter goes to the smith at Kaer Trolde. Telling him the truth earns a small reward in crowns. Lying to him ends any further trade with him.
