Superior Griffin Gauntlets are the Superior tier of the Griffin School gauntlets, medium witcher gear. They give 57 armor and +8% sign intensity at level 26. Their diagram is north of Giants' Toes in Skellige. They are mid-game gauntlets.

They also give +3% piercing, +4% slashing, +3% monster and +8% elemental resistance. The sign intensity suits a signs build, the role the Griffin set leans toward.

Set Bonus

The Griffin set is medium armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 11, Enhanced at 18, Superior at 26, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. The 3-piece and 6-piece bonuses come from Grandmaster pieces worn as a school set. 3 pieces: after Geralt casts a sign in standard mode with stamina, the next sign cast within 3 seconds costs no stamina. 6 pieces: Yrden traps are 40% larger, and inside the trap stamina regeneration rises by 5 per second, sign intensity by 100% and damage taken drops by 20%.

Superior Griffin Gauntlets Map Location and Quest Guide

The Superior Griffin Gauntlets diagram lies in a chest among the rocks by a pirate camp near Giants' Toes, on the northeastern tip of Ard Skellig. The pin marks the chest, a stop of Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 3.

Buy Edwin Greloff's Third Map from the armorer in Hierarch Square. It starts Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 3 and marks every diagram spot.
Sail to the northeastern tip of Ard Skellig, near Giants' Toes.
Kill the pirates camped along the coastline.
Find the last campfire and loot the chest among the rocks nearby for the Superior Griffin Gauntlets diagram. The other three armor diagrams of the tier are inside too.

Notes

In NG+ the diagram makes Superior Legendary Griffin Gauntlets instead. They need level 26 plus the NG+ starting level and give 59 armor at level 27 (+2 per level), with +13% sign intensity and +16% elemental resistance.
