The Tracking Bolt and the Bolt with Bait are the best bolts for armor piercing. Both add +100 armor piercing and deal 5-7 piercing damage. The Tracking Bolt is the better of the two: every hit also bleeds for 120 seconds. It is a level 1 Master bolt with +5 silver damage. It is crafted in stacks of 20 from a diagram sold in Silverton and on Hindarsfjall. It is an early-game bolt.
Its 120 second bleed lasts much longer than the Broadhead Bolt's bleed. It shares its +100 armor piercing with the Bolt with Bait. The bleed suits a bleeding hybrid build, because the Wolven grandmaster 3-piece bonus raises sword damage for each Bleeding effect on an enemy.
How to Get Tracking Bolt
- Buy Diagram: Tracking Bolt from the blacksmith in Silverton or the Isolated Hut merchant on Hindarsfjall, and craft stacks of 20.
- Buy the bolts from the blacksmith in Oxenfurt, Zoltan Chivay or the epilogue smith.
- Some arbalists drop them. Soldier corpses carry up to 10 at the same spots as Exploding bolts.
Notes
Zoltan sells them during The Battle of Kaer Morhen if he was recruited. The epilogue smith sells them if Redania wins.
