Journeyman armorer

Ursine Armor is the basic tier of the Ursine (Bear School) chest armor, heavy witcher armor from the base game. It gives 135 armor at level 20, with +5% adrenaline gain. Its diagram is in the dungeon under Castle Tuirseach on An Skellig. It is mid-game armor.
It also gives +5% piercing, +5% bludgeoning, +15% slashing and +18% monster resistance. The adrenaline gain suits an adrenaline build. It is the first step of the Ursine upgrade chain, which ends at the Grandmaster tier.
Set Bonus
The Ursine set is heavy armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 20, Enhanced at 25, Superior at 30, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. 3 pieces: when a Quen shield breaks, a new one may cast at no stamina cost, with the chance rising by 5% per set piece. 6 pieces: damage from abilities that involve Quen rises by 200%. These bonuses come from Grandmaster pieces worn as a set.
How to Get Ursine Armor
- Start Scavenger Hunt: Bear School Gear in Skellige.
- Go to the dungeon under Castle Tuirseach, near Yngvar's Fang on An Skellig.
- Open the chest behind the iron gate, which holds all four armor diagrams.
- A journeyman armorer crafts it.
Ursine Armor Map Location and Quest Guide
The Ursine Armor diagram sits in a chest in the dungeon under Clan Tuirseach's ruined castle near Yngvar's Fang, on An Skellig. The pin marks the chest, the last stop of Scavenger Hunt: Bear School Gear. The same chest holds the boots, gauntlets and trousers diagrams.
- Buy one of Ibrahim Savi's maps from the armorer at Kaer Trolde, or find any of the diagrams, to start Scavenger Hunt: Bear School Gear.
- Travel to the ruins of Clan Tuirseach's castle near Yngvar's Fang on An Skellig.
- Head to the bottom floor, where an iron gate blocks a doorway, and take the stairs down into the dungeon.
- Kill the wraith that appears near the first cells.
- Pull the lever at the end of the hall to open the cells, and kill the wraiths it releases.
- Drop down the hole in the first cell to the left of the lever and follow the tunnel. Kill the wraith at the crossing.
- Climb the stairs and ledges, then blast the rocks with Aard to enter the room behind the iron gate.
- Loot the chest in the far corner for the Ursine Armor diagram.

Notes
In NG+ the diagram makes Legendary Ursine Armor. It gives 140 armor at level 21, with +22% adrenaline gain.
