Ursine Gauntlets are the basic tier of the Ursine (Bear School) gauntlets, heavy witcher gear. They give 45 armor and +5% adrenaline point gain at level 20. Their diagram is in the dungeon under Castle Tuirseach in Skellige. They are mid-game gauntlets.
They also give +2% piercing, +2% slashing, +2% monster and +2% elemental resistance. The adrenaline gain suits an adrenaline build, and the Ursine set bonuses suit a Quen tank.
Set Bonus
The Ursine set is heavy armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 20, Enhanced at 25, Superior at 30, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. The 3-piece and 6-piece bonuses come from Grandmaster pieces worn as a school set. 3 pieces: when a Quen shield breaks, a new one may be cast at no stamina cost, with a 5% chance per set piece worn. 6 pieces: damage dealt by abilities that involve Quen rises by 200%.
How to Get Ursine Gauntlets
- Start Scavenger Hunt: Bear School Gear.
- Go to the dungeon under Castle Tuirseach, near Yngvar's Fang on An Skellig.
- Open the chest behind the iron gate, which holds the armor, gauntlets, trousers and boots diagrams.
- Have an armorer craft them.
Ursine Gauntlets Map Location and Quest Guide
The Ursine Gauntlets diagram lies in a chest behind an iron gate in the dungeon under Castle Tuirseach, the former castle of Clan Tuirseach near Yngvar's Fang on An Skellig. The pin marks the castle, a stop of Scavenger Hunt: Bear School Gear.
- Start Scavenger Hunt: Bear School Gear by finding any of its diagrams, or by buying one of Ibrahim Savi's maps from the armorer at Kaer Trolde.
- Go to Castle Tuirseach near Yngvar's Fang and head down to the bottom floor of the ruins.
- Head down the stairs into the dungeon and kill the wraith that appears by the first cells.
- At the end of the hall, turn right and pull the lever on the wall. The cells open and more wraiths appear.
- Drop through the hole in the first cell on the left of the lever, and kill the wraith at the tunnel junction.
- Climb the stairs and ledges, then blast the rocks with Aard to enter the room behind the iron gate.
- Loot the chest in the corner across the room for the Ursine Gauntlets diagram. The other three armor diagrams of the set are inside too.

Notes
In NG+ the diagram makes Legendary Ursine Gauntlets instead. They need level 20 plus the NG+ starting level and give 47 armor at level 21 (+2 per level), with +11% adrenaline gain.
