Wolven Trousers are the Basic tier of the Wolven (Wolf School) trousers, medium witcher gear from the base game. They give 37 armor at level 14, with +5% attack power and +5% sign intensity. Their diagram is in the cave beneath the old signal tower in Kaer Morhen. They come early in the game.
They also give +5% slashing, +5% monster and +17% elemental resistance. Attack power and sign intensity together fit the hybrid mix of swords and signs that the Wolven set is built around.
Set Bonus
The Wolven set is medium armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 14, Enhanced at 21, Superior at 29, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. The 3-piece and 6-piece bonuses come from Grandmaster pieces worn as a school set. 3 pieces: each bleeding effect on an enemy raises sword damage by 1% per set piece worn. 6 pieces: each adrenaline point raises how many bleeding effects can stack on one enemy.
How to Get Wolven Trousers
- Start Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear. The diagram can also be collected without the quest.
- Reach the cave through the portal in the old signal tower south of the Kaer Morhen signpost, using the polished crystal and Aard.
- Take the diagram, which lies with the armor, gauntlets and boots diagrams and some notes. Have an armorer craft them.
Wolven Trousers Map Location and Quest Guide
The Wolven Trousers diagram lies on a skeleton in a cave reached through Hieronymus' portal in the old signal tower, just south of the Kaer Morhen signpost. The pin marks the diagram spot, the armor stop of Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear. The skeleton also carries the armor, boots and gauntlets diagrams.
- Buy the slightly torn notes from the blacksmith in Lindenvale, or Éibhear Hattori's map, to start Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear.
- Go to the old signal tower just south of the Kaer Morhen signpost. It sits on a steep cliff, so ride down the valley and back up to reach it.
- Climb over the wall inside and up the scaffolding, then loot the chest on the first level for Hieronymus' notes and read them.
- Squeeze through the crack in the tower wall and climb the outer scaffolding to take the polished crystal from a ledge.
- Mount the crystal in the portal mechanism and charge it with Aard.
- Charge the second mechanism on the other side with Aard to stabilize the portal.
- Jump through the portal into the cave and kill the wraith near the exit.
- Loot the skeleton for the Wolven Trousers diagram.

Notes
In NG+ the diagram makes Legendary Wolven Trousers instead. They need level 14 plus the NG+ starting level, with a minimum of 39, and give 87 armor at level 39 (+2 per level), with +11% attack power and +11% sign intensity.
