Acquisition Specialist

Acquisition Specialist
Acquisition Specialist
Class Intelligence Perk
Attribute Intelligence
Levels 2
Affects Only affects Smart Weapons

Acquisition Specialist is where the smart weapon branch of the Intelligence tree begins. It widens the targeting reticle, stops a reload breaking target lock, and speeds up locking on from the hip and down the sights. The rest of the smart weapon line is bought through it. Any build carrying a smart weapon takes it first.

Effect

Smart weapons fire rounds that steer themselves, and everything about them depends on holding a lock. A wider reticle means the lock is found sooner and lost less often.

The second level removes the branch's worst interruption. Reloading normally drops the lock and hands the enemy a free moment, and with this perk the lock survives, so a magazine change costs nothing but time.

Level Effect
1 +10% larger target reticle for Smart Weapons.
2 Reloading Smart Weapons no longer interrupts target lock. +15% lock-on speed when hip-firing. +20% lock-on speed when aiming.

How to Unlock Acquisition Specialist

It is bought with the earlier points V puts into the Intelligence tree, and nothing has to be bought ahead of it.

Perk Tree

Buying Acquisition Specialist opens the perks below.

Name Image Tier Effect
No Escape No Escape Pro (9) When using Smart Weapons, if the target lock on an enemy is about to end, shooting them resets it.
Precision Subroutines Precision Subroutines Pro (9) +2% accuract with Smart Weapons for each unit in your cyberdeck's max RAM.
Target Lock Transfer Target Lock Transfer Phenom (15) +10% larger target reticle for Smart Weapons.

Character Builds

The build is a smart weapon build, which may or may not be a netrunner. The cyberdeck still matters, since Precision Subroutines reads its maximum RAM as accuracy.

Buy it with the earlier points in the tree, then No Escape and Precision Subroutines, then Target Lock Transfer at the Phenom gate. Smart Synergy at the Legend gate is where the branch joins the netrunning half, which is why most smart weapon builds end up carrying a deck anyway.

Notes

No Escape, Precision Subroutines and Target Lock Transfer are all bought from it.

Smart weapons are what the Intelligence attribute improves, alongside the netrunning the rest of the tree covers.
