Bree Whitney is a journalist who until recently made her living writing for the scream sheets. She always wanted more from life, and she finally stumbled onto a serious story. It got dangerously hot, but she would not let it go. Now she digs through corporate closets for skeletons, which in Night City can make a person rich or, more often, dead.
Biography
On the Run
Bree is wanted by the police and has to leave Night City. She slips into Dogtown through its northern gate, carrying a story that powerful people want buried.
Her apartment holds the traces of her last weeks in the city. Her final article for the scream sheets, a write up about an All Foods bar, went to her editor with a note that payment would follow in a week. She wrote to a travel agency asking which trips left soonest, and to a smuggler, Mike Lazaro, about crossing into Dogtown. He offered to get her in the next month. She told him she needed to be there yesterday.
Mr. Hands knows little more than V. His briefing says only that she is a journalist with corporations on her tail who needs help and will not say more, and that the access card waits in a safe box under a bamboo plant in her apartment at 18 Skyline West.
Personality
Bree is paranoid and stressed, which is hardly surprising given her situation. She knows what she wants and means to get it whatever the price. She is secretive and careful with her words, saving them for her articles.
Relationships
Mr. Hands offers the job that brings V to her. Dante Caruso is tied to her fate.
Jobs
Bree is at the heart of Shot by Both Sides, a job from Mr. Hands.
