Built Different unlocks the Cellular Adapter implant and makes it usable. The cyberware can be bought and installed at a ripperdoc once the perk is owned, and without the perk it cannot be run properly. It sits in the cyberware branch of the Technical Ability tree. It is one of the few perks that adds an item rather than a number.
Effect
The implant goes into the integumentary system, the slot group that covers skin and armour plating. What it offers is only available to a build that has come this far up the tree.
Because the perk is required for it to work at all, this is a gate rather than a bonus. The decision is whether the implant is worth the points, not whether it is worth a slot.
How to Unlock Built Different
It sits behind the Phenom gate of the Technical Ability tree and is bought from License To Chrome.
Perk Tree
Built Different is bought from License To Chrome in the Technical Ability tree.
| Name | Image | Tier | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| License To Chrome | Phenom (15) | +10% to all cyberware stat modifiers. |
Character Builds
The build is a cyberware build deep enough in the tree to be buying implants for their own sake rather than for a specific effect.
Buy it at the Phenom gate from License To Chrome, and visit a ripperdoc afterwards, since the implant has to be bought and fitted separately. Chrome Constitution rewards filling every integumentary slot, and this implant is one way to do it.
Notes
Ripperdoc clinics are where it is bought and fitted once the perk is held.
Chrome Constitution rewards filling every integumentary and skeleton slot, which this implant helps do.
