The Cellular Adapter turns every point of Technical Ability into four small bonuses at once. It raises explosion resistance, Tech weapon damage, Health Item recharge and grenade recharge. The more Technical Ability V has, the stronger all four get. It is made for a dedicated Technical Ability build that fights with Tech guns and grenades. A special perk is needed before the implant works properly. The Cellular Adapter is a mid game implant that ripperdocs sell from level 10, and it needs the Technical Ability perk Built Different to work.
Effect
The Cellular Adapter has no trigger and no cooldown. Its whole effect comes from the Technical Ability attribute. For each point in Technical Ability, V gains 1% explosion resistance. Each point also adds 0.5% Tech weapon damage. Health Items recharge 0.5% faster per point, and so do grenades.
The numbers add up quickly. A character with 20 Technical Ability gets 20% explosion resistance and 10% more Tech weapon damage. Health Items and grenades both recharge 10% faster at that level. Every point spent in the attribute raises all four bonuses together.
The implant also adds armor, like other Integumentary System cyberware. The perk Built Different unlocks the Cellular Adapter at ripperdoc clinics. That perk is required to use it properly.
How to Get Cellular Adapter Guide
- Put 15 points into Technical Ability.
- Unlock the perk Built Different.
- Reach level 10.
- Visit any ripperdoc clinic and open the Integumentary System slot.
- Buy and install the Cellular Adapter.

Upgrades
Ripperdocs stock the Cellular Adapter at Tier 2 from level 10, Tier 3 from level 20, Tier 4 from level 30 and Tier 5 from level 40. An installed copy can be raised a tier at a ripperdoc with the matching item components. Higher tiers add more armor, while the per-point bonuses stay the same. All Things Cyber lowers the Cyberware Capacity cost of Integumentary System implants by 20%. V gains capacity with each level and from Cyberware Capacity Shards. The Edgerunner perk lets V go over the limit by up to 50 points, at the cost of some max Health.
The table shows what each tier step of Cellular Adapter costs at a ripperdoc.
| Upgrade | Components | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 2 to Tier 2+ | 50 Tier 2 components | - |
| Tier 2+ to Tier 3 | 37 Tier 3 components | - |

| Tier 4+ to Tier 5 | 37 Tier 5 components | - |
| Tier 5 to Tier 5+ | 50 Tier 5 components | - |
| Tier 5+ to Tier 5++ | 125 Tier 5 components | Phantom Liberty |
Character Builds
The Cellular Adapter belongs in a high Technical Ability build. Built Different sits in the Technical Ability tree and needs 15 points in the attribute. Tech weapons gain the most from the damage bonus. The perk Bolt raises charge speed and charged-shot damage for Tech weapons. Shock Value lets Bolts ignore enemy armor. Chain Lightning makes Bolts deal Electrical damage that jumps to nearby enemies. Feedback Circuit restores Health whenever a fully charged Tech weapon shot hits.
Grenade users gain from the recharge bonus. Pyromania speeds up grenade and Health Item recharge and widens grenade blasts. Demolitions Surplus adds a grenade charge. Coming In Hot speeds up recharge when no grenades are left. Friendlier Fire gives 50% resistance to explosions that V causes. That resistance adds to the explosion resistance from the Cellular Adapter.
Health Item users also benefit. Health Freak speeds up Health Item and grenade recharge and adds a Health Item charge.
Select a Build
Ping reveals enemies behind walls, and Tech weapon shots pierce the cover between them. A charged shot released at the click of Bolt deals the most damage. With a Militech Sandevistan, the charge starts first and time slows at half charge so the Bolt shot lands as a headshot.
