Calm Mind holds the adrenaline bar still for a few extra seconds before it starts to drain. It is a small number attached to the most important mode in the Body tree, which is why it is bought so often. The perk does nothing on its own. Everything it is worth depends on how long V can keep adrenaline running.
Effect
Adrenaline begins to decay shortly after it is granted, and the delay this perk adds comes off the front of that. The bar sits at full for longer before the clock starts.
In a short fight the whole mode can now run without any decay at all. In a long one the extra seconds arrive at the start, when the bar is fullest and each point of it is absorbing the most damage.
How to Unlock Calm Mind
It sits behind the Phenom gate of the Body tree and is bought from Adrenaline Rush, which is the perk that creates the adrenaline it protects.
Perk Tree
Calm Mind is bought from Adrenaline Rush in the Body tree.

Character Builds
It suits any Body build that has bought the adrenaline mode, which is most of them by the Phenom gate. There is no weapon requirement at all, so it fits the blunt weapon and heavy weapon sides equally.
Buy it immediately after Adrenaline Rush, before the other perks on that branch. The delay it adds is at the front of the bar where every point is absorbing the most damage, and it makes the short fights cost nothing at all.
Notes
Bloodlust refills the bar from dismemberment, so one perk slows the loss and the other reverses it.
Juggernaut, Unstoppable Force and Pain To Gain all read the same mode, and a build that takes this one is usually taking those as well.
