Feline Footwork makes crouching worth doing. V moves faster while crouched and is far more likely to shrug off a hit, which turns the stealth stance into a fighting stance. It is the first pick in the Cool tree and most of the stealth branch is bought through it. Any build that works from cover starts here.
Effect
Crouching normally costs speed in exchange for silence, which is why it is abandoned the moment a fight starts. This perk pays back some of the speed and adds protection on top.
The mitigation chance is the part that lasts. A crouched V is now harder to hurt as well as harder to hear, so staying low after being spotted is a real option rather than a mistake.
How to Unlock Feline Footwork
It sits behind the Rookie gate of the Cool tree, so the first points V puts there reach it. Nothing is bought ahead of it.
Perk Tree
Buying Feline Footwork opens the perks below.
| Name | Image | Tier | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blind Spot | Rookie (4) | When crouched, the higher your Mitigation Chance, the longer it takes for enemies to detect you. | |
| Ninjutsu | Phenom (15) | +15% Movement Speed. | |
| Small Target | Rookie (4) | +20% Mitigation Chance when crouched and not moving. | |
| Unexposed | Rookie (4) | +20% Mitigation Chance when aiming from cover. |
Character Builds
The build is a stealth build, which raises Cool first and carries optical camo in the integumentary slot. A silenced pistol or a throwing knife is the weapon.
Buy it with the first points that reach the Rookie gate, then Small Target and Unexposed for the mitigation and Blind Spot to turn that mitigation into concealment. Ninjutsu at the Phenom gate is where the branch becomes a silent sprint, and Killer Instinct beside it is what makes the first kill lethal.
Notes
Blind Spot, Small Target and Unexposed all read the same crouch, and Ninjutsu above it takes the stance all the way to a silent sprint.
Mitigation strength, which decides the size of each reduction, comes from cyberware and from the Body tree.
