The North Oak Columbarium is a large group of buildings on the southern hills of North Oak that hold the ashes of the dead. It was built by the city when burial in the ground became illegal in Night City. People come here from all over the city to pay their respects.
History
The city council built the columbarium after grave robbers kept digging up the dead to steal their cyberware. A group called the Tombstone Preservers camped nearby and kept the area safe.

Inside North Oak Columbarium
Each urn is given its own niche, which is usually marked with a symbol of the person's work or life. The columbarium is open to everyone. Arasaka security turrets guard it, and lighting candles or spraying paint is strictly against the rules.
Many people from the story end up here. Which plaques appear depends on how their stories ended.
The columbarium holds the ashes of thousands of people from Night City. A person can choose to be laid to rest here, or their loved ones can choose for them, and each is given a place for their urn. The niches are usually marked with a symbol, such as the logo of a company the person worked for or a sign of their passions. Some plaques are always there, while others appear only after certain choices.
