Biography

---

Pepe works long hours behind the bar at El Coyote Cojo, and he makes no secret that he does it for his family. Even so, he owes money to Kirk Sawyer, a loan shark and would be fixer in Heywood, and Kirk has threatened to break his legs. A Streetkid V steps in to help, which leads to the first meeting with Jackie Welles.

Later, Pepe asks V for some detective work. His wife, Cynthia, lies about where she goes, and their child looks like neither of them. Pepe fears she is cheating but has no proof, so he hires someone he trusts to find out. What V tells him at the end shapes his marriage, which shows in later calls from the couple.
