Heywood is the district of contrasts in the middle of Night City. The game's Database calls it a district of contradictions. Its northern part, along the border with City Center, is modern and well kept, proud of its stunning megabuildings, parks and public spaces. A few blocks to the south east, the scenery changes completely. That part of Heywood is much poorer and more dangerous, the buildings are smaller, and the streets belong to the Valentinos and 6th Street. Locals call Heywood the biggest bedroom in the city, because more people sleep here than anywhere else in Night City. Anyone who is not a corpo and still lands an apartment in the richer north has won the lottery, the Database says, and everyone else should simply be glad to live in Heywood, because in Night City things could always be worse. Its sub-districts are Wellsprings, the Glen and Vista del Rey. Wellsprings is the safest part, the Glen is the government district with City Hall and a heavy police presence, and Vista del Rey is the poorest. Jackie Welles grew up here, and his mother's bar, El Coyote Cojo, stands in the Glen. Embers, Reconciliation Park and the Dicky Twister club are among its other landmarks.

Gangs
The Valentinos and 6th Street control Heywood and fight each other for it. Visitors who keep their heads down are usually left alone.
The Valentinos are hard to mistake: loud vests, flashy gold cyberware, heavy jewellery and tattoos of Santa Muerte. Their style comes from Chicano culture, but anyone can join, whatever their background. The gang is fiercely territorial and bound to the people of Heywood by ties of friendship and business that are almost like family. Its legal businesses, such as restaurants, nightclubs and garages, are fronts for money laundering, stolen cars, gun running and human trafficking. A Valentino's friendship lasts until the grave, so it is worth thinking twice before riding with them.
6th Street pushes into Heywood from its bases further south. The two gangs are in constant conflict over the district.
