Porsche is a German maker of high performance sports cars, and one of the few real world companies that exist in Night City. Its cars are rare, old and expensive, and owning one says more about taste than about money. Johnny Silverhand drove a Porsche 911, and that car is the reason most players ever see the badge. The marque builds sports cars, sedans and sport utility vehicles, but the 911 is the one that matters here.

History

Porsche is older than almost everything else on the road in Night City. The company was founded in Germany by Ferdinand Porsche, and it survived into a century where most of its rivals did not.

Johnny Silverhand's car of choice was the 911, and he was driving it on the night of the assault that made his name. The car outlived him. V can find it, repair it and keep it, which makes it the only vehicle in the game with that much history attached to it.

Porsche builds three model lines that reach Night City. The 911 is the classic rear-engined sports car and the one Johnny owned. The Turbolift 945i and the 1620 are the company's later models.

The 911 Turbo comes to V through the main story rather than a showroom. Johnny's own car is recovered during Chippin' In, after V tracks down what happened to it. The open-topped 911 Turbo Cabriolet is a different matter: it sells on the Autofixer netpage for €$ 73,000, and it also turns up in the job Shape of a Pony.
