The eurodollar is the money of Night City in Cyberpunk 2077. Its symbol is €$, and on the street it goes by eddies. It is the only currency in the game. Every vendor, ripperdoc and car dealer in the city prices its goods in eddies, and fixers pay for gigs in them. V starts out with little cash and a long shopping list. The amount of money in V's account decides how soon new cyberware, better guns and a car of V's own come within reach.

Lore

The eurodollar comes from the tabletop roleplaying games that Cyberpunk 2077 is built on. It began as the money of a united European economic bloc. From there it spread around the world. Most nations accept it, and other currencies are valued against it. In Night City and across the New United States, it is the money of everyday life.

The tabletop books use other names for it. Cyberpunk RED calls it the eurobuck and shortens it to eb. In 2077 the street name is eddies, and every price in the game carries the €$ sign.

Earning Eddies

Gigs are the steadiest income. They are short jobs from fixers, and each one pays eddies when it is done. A gig usually drops loot along the way as well. Fixers offer more gigs as V's Street Cred rises.

NCPD Scanner Hustles are the next source. They are short fights marked on the map, and the payment arrives as soon as one is cleared. They come as Assault in Progress, Reported Crime, Suspected Organized Crime Activity and Cyberpsycho Sightings. Each one also leaves loot behind. Phantom Liberty adds Increased Criminal Activity in Dogtown. There a strong leader and a crew guard the rewards.

Selling loot fills the gap between jobs. Enemies drop their weapons, and any vendor buys them. Higher-tier weapons sell for more than low-tier ones. Drop Points stand around Night City and the Badlands. They buy items for eddies and sell nothing in return. Every vendor and Drop Point holds a limited amount of cash. When it runs out, V has to sell somewhere else or wait a day for the till to refill.

Junk items can be sold or dismantled. Vendors and Drop Points have a Sell Junk button that sells all of it at once. Dismantling turns an item into crafting components instead of cash. Those components pay for crafting and for cyberware upgrades. Valuable loot belongs at a vendor. Low-value spares are worth breaking down when the backpack fills up.

Cars bring in money too. A street race win pays €$ 10,000 and also gives an Autofixer discount shard. El Capitan's vehicle contracts give discount shards as well. In Dogtown, airdrops fall from the sky. Raiders fight over each crate, and V has to clear them before hacking it open. The crate holds random loot that can be used or sold.

Spending Eddies

Vehicles are the biggest purchases. The Autofixer netpage sells them. It opens from an Autofixer terminal or from a computer in one of V's apartments. More cars appear on it as Street Cred rises. The cheapest car is the Galena G240 at €$ 13,000. The Rayfield Aerondight "Guinevere" costs €$ 155,000 and needs Street Cred 50. Discount shards lower the price of the next car. They stack up to a full 100 percent, and one purchase spends them all. The Phantom Liberty cars stay locked until V takes on vehicle contracts for El Capitan.

Ripperdocs sell cyberware for eddies. Upgrading an implant to a higher tier works differently. A ripperdoc upgrade is paid in crafting components alone, so a full wallet speeds up new implants but leaves upgrades to the component stock.

Weapon vendors sell guns, melee weapons, crafting specs, attachments, mods and ammunition. Clothing vendors sell outfits. Netrunner vendors sell quickhacks. Food, drinks and healing items come from their own shops.

Apartments are the other large buy. After the main job Playing for Time, more apartments go on sale across Night City. Each one has a bed, a shower, a stash and a wardrobe, so V can rest and change clothes away from the first home in Megabuilding H10.

The Northside Apartment is the cheapest at €$ 10,000. The Japantown Apartment costs €$ 30,000. The Glen Apartment costs €$ 80,000. The Corpo Plaza Apartment is the most expensive home in the game at €$ 110,000.

Most Expensive Purchases

The table lists the five most expensive things V can buy in the game. Three of them are cars from the Autofixer. The Militech "Apogee" Sandevistan is the one implant among them, and the sources give its ripperdoc price between €$ 110,000 and €$ 120,000. The Corpo Plaza apartment completes the list.

Notes

  • The Autojock achievement asks V to buy every vehicle that is for sale. It needs Street Cred 50, since the last cars unlock at that level.
  • Buying at least three vehicles through the Autofixer is part of unlocking the Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa.
  • An official metal replica of a eurodollar is sold as merchandise. It is plated in 24k gold and each one is individually numbered.
