Rachel Casich is a braindance producer at Fourth Wall Studios. When she hears the story of Joshua Stephenson, a convicted killer who found faith in prison, she sees the chance for a braindance like no other. She arranges his release so he can record his last days, ending in his own crucifixion. Her project, The Passion, tests both Joshua's faith and V's conscience.
Biography
The Deal
Rachel visits Joshua in prison with an offer. He will be released under police guard to visit the families of the people he killed and seek their forgiveness. In return, she will record his final days, including his death on the cross, as a braindance. Rachel thinks he is mad to choose such a death, but that does not matter to her. What matters is that he truly believes, which makes the recording far more powerful than any actor could.
On the Road
As Rachel, Joshua and the police officer Vasquez drive to meet the victims' families, Bill Jablonsky and V chase their car. If V keeps the peace, Joshua asks V to come along, and Rachel loudly objects. She listens to every conversation between V and Joshua and grows worried that V is changing his feelings. At a lunch stop, she asks V to keep away from the topic and not ruin her work.
The Passion
Rachel prepares the crucifixion on a stage at Fourth Wall Studios. Shortly before the scene, Joshua grows nervous and refuses to continue until he has spoken to V. Desperate to save the project, Rachel calls V to the studio.
