Yawen Packard is a doctor who runs a police-contracted laboratory in Heywood. She is an acclaimed neuroscientist who works on autism in children, using braindance technology to guide their brain waves. Because her method can reach thoughts and memories that are otherwise locked away, the police hired her lab to help with the Peter Pan case. She is also River Ward's former girlfriend.

The Lab

Yawen is so devoted to her work that she is still in the building during a full audit of the lab, which is exactly when River and V break in to search it without a warrant. She has had unpleasant arguments with River before, and she makes her disappointment clear, calling him a bastard.

The Dreams

River and V hope to read the dreams of Anthony Harris, the comatose killer they believe took River's nephew. Yawen first explains that Harris is not dreaming because of his condition. Once River and V bring her enough material, she manages to trigger dreams in the patient and records several braindances from his past, which help solve the case.
