The Ash of War: Storm Wall is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Standard affinity and the Storm Wall skill. It can be picked up early in a run.
Storm Wall swings the shield to raise a wall of storm winds in front of the wielder, knocking arrows, bolts, thrown pots and similar physical projectiles out of the air. It also works exactly like a regular parry against melee attacks, opening enemies to a critical hit. That makes it one of the strongest parry tools in the game. It suits shield users who face archers and still want parry ripostes.
Stats
It grants the Standard affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Keen, Heavy, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood or Occult. The skill costs no FP. It fits Small Shield and Medium Shield.
How to Get Ash of War: Storm Wall Guide
- Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab in Stormhill, on the cliffs outside the eastern walls of Stormveil Castle.
- Following the road north from the Stormhill Shack leads to a collapsed bridge; dropping down to the west from its end reaches a dip in the cliffside where the scarab waits.
- Once obtained, it can be duplicated by trading Lost Ashes of War to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold.

Skill
The projectile deflection is active right away for a short window, so it should be timed just as arrows arrive. Against melee attacks the timing is the same as a normal parry. Heavy projectiles such as great arrows, greatbolts and most physical spells cannot be deflected and must be dodged.
