Castle Sol is an old fortress on the northern edge of the Mountaintops of the Giants. It is reached by the road north from the Snow Valley Ruins Overlook. Elder Lions roam its courtyard, and phantom Banished Knights guard its walls. Commander Niall waits on the rooftop. He guards the left half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion.

Lore
Castle Sol was built by the knights who later became the Banished Knights. They were famed hunters of dragons. Long ago, a cold eclipse appeared above the castle. Its pale sun was said to ward off Destined Death and give life to the soulless. The knights worshipped the eclipse in the Church of the Eclipse.
After the Night of Black Knives, the people of Sol prayed for a new eclipse. They hoped to call a spirit into the body of Godwyn the Golden. The eclipse never came. Commander Niall once lost a great battle and gave his leg to win back the lives of his men. He still leads their spirits in the empty castle.

- Travel north from the Snow Valley Ruins Overlook to the Castle Sol Main Gate Site of Grace.

- Climb the walls and ballista towers past the Church of the Eclipse.
