The Fire Serpent is a Messmer's Fire incantation in Elden Ring. It comes from the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
Fire Serpent is an incantation of the Fire Knights under Messmer the Impaler's personal command, who turned to fire incantations to honor their bond when Messmer's flame would not take hold within them. It conjures a coil of flame that hovers briefly before curving after its target, with excellent tracking even toward enemies that slip between the caster and the flame, and charging raises the damage. Without lock-on it seeks the nearest enemy on screen, and at point-blank range it bursts immediately much like Catch Flame. The Fire Knight's Seal, Messmer's Helm, the Fire Knight armor and the Godfrey Icon all boost it, though Flame Sling still edges it out in raw damage. It suits Messmer's flame faith builds that want a tracking fire projectile.
Effect
Launches a coiling flame that hovers briefly, then curves after the target; charging enhances potency. Each cast costs 11 FP and takes up one memory slot.
