The Scaled Armor (Altered) is a piece of chest armor in Elden Ring. It belongs to the Scaled Set. It is available within the first few hours of a run.
The Scaled Armor (Altered) is the altered form of the armor of Old Knight Istvan, one of the few wizened Tarnished who survive, its corroded metal reinforced with rock-hard scales that make it highly effective against non-physical attacks. The unaltered armor is earned by defeating Istvan for the Volcano Manor, and altering it at a Site of Grace or with Boc changes its look while keeping the same description. The altered version is about a point lighter with a little less defense and poise, still a heavy chest piece with strong elemental protection. It suits heavy strength builds that want high poise and strong protection against non-physical attacks.
Stats
It carries 30 poise at 15 weight.
Altering
Its unaltered form, Scaled Armor, weighs 16 instead of 15 and carries 33 poise instead of 30. Altering works at any Site of Grace.
