Scholar's Shield is a Glintstone sorcery in Elden Ring.
Scholar's Shield is a glintstone sorcery of the Academy of Raya Lucaria, taught to the Knights of the Cuckoo as payment for their contract. It enchants the shield in the left hand for a minute, sharply raising its magic negation, boosting its other elemental negation and cutting stamina lost while blocking, a reduction that stacks with the Greatshield Talisman. Unlike most enchantments it works on shields of any affinity, including magic, allowing very high negation against specific damage types. The Old Lord's Talisman extends its duration, and its low Intelligence requirement puts it within reach of nearly every starting class with the Stargazer Heirloom. It suits shield users and knight builds that want to turtle up against magic-heavy bosses.
Effect
Enchants the left hand shield for 60 seconds, raising its magic damage negation by 70% and its other elemental negation by 30%, and cutting stamina lost while blocking by 35%. Each cast costs 30 FP and takes up one memory slot.
How to Get Scholar's Shield Guide
Scholar's Shield is sold by Sorceress Sellen for 2,500 runes. If Sellen dies, the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold sell it for the same price once given Sellen's Bell Bearing.
- Travel to the Waypoint Ruins in Limgrave and go down into the cellar.
- Defeat the Mad Pumpkin Head guarding the cellar.
- Talk to Sorceress Sellen and choose to learn glintstone sorceries.
- Buy Scholar's Shield from Sellen for 2,500 runes.
