The blacksmith is opened from the button next to your weapon on the overview screen, and it is the one place where a weapon is altered rather than replaced. It does three jobs: it fits soul stones into the weapon's sockets, it sharpens the blade, and it puts a name on it for premium players.

Nothing here touches armour, shields or jewellery, no attribute is raised, and the only prices published for the shop are the three sharpening fees.

Sockets and soul stones

How many stones a weapon takes is fixed by the weapon, from none up to three, and three is close to standard on the shop lists: 124 of the 153 one-handed weapons and 138 of the 166 two-handed weapons carry the full set, and only a handful of either carry none. The stones themselves come from the merchant, apart from the lightning ones, which are sold only at the bazaar, and they are gated by level rather than by weapon skill.

Since the 2019 update a fitted stone can be swapped for another, and the stone coming out is destroyed rather than returned to the inventory. Filling a socket early with a cheap stone therefore costs the full price of that stone to undo.

Sharpening

A weapon can be sharpened three times. Each pass adds a single point to the maximum damage and leaves the minimum where it is, so the range widens rather than shifting: a weapon at 27-30 finishes at 27-33. The fee climbs with each pass.

Sharpening Cost Maximum Damage Gained
1 50 GemsMoonCoins +1
2 150 GemsMoonCoins +1
3 300 GemsMoonCoins +1

All three together come to 500 gems for three points of top-end damage, a flat price against a benefit that is anything but flat. On that 27-30 example it lifts the ceiling by a tenth. On the heaviest two-handers, which reach 181-211, the same 500 gems barely registers. Sharpening pays on a weapon bought early and kept a while.

Naming a weapon

Premium accounts can replace the shop name with one of their own. It changes nothing about the weapon but its name.
