KnightFight - Armour

Body armour is what makes dexterity worth training. With no armour worn the dexterity bonus to damage reduction is zero, however high the attribute has been pushed, so an unarmoured knight is paying for a stat that does nothing.

The range

The list runs from a 50 gold linen vest at armour skill 0 to plate requiring 401, and the same armour skill gates shields.

Reading the reduction

Damage reduction is given as a range and comes off incoming damage directly. It is worth comparing the top of one bracket against the bottom of the next before spending the points: the curve is not smooth, and several cheaper pieces out-reduce more expensive ones a few rows below them.
