The Dawnguard Rune Hammer is a unique Dawnguard warhammer that lays a fire rune with every bash. It deals 22 base damage, the same as the plain Dawnguard Warhammer. Florentius Baenius sends for it in Lost Relic, a Dawnguard side quest given at Fort Dawnguard.
Weapon Enchantment
A bash places a Fire Rune on a nearby surface. The rune explodes for 50 points of fire damage when an enemy comes near. The bash uses stamina in place of magicka. Using the hammer's runes trains the Destruction skill. The Rune Master perk and Ahzidal's Helm of Vision both extend how far away the rune can be placed.
Any weapon enchantment can be placed on a Dawnguard Rune Hammer at an arcane enchanter.

Dawnguard Rune Hammer map location:
The Dawnguard Rune Hammer waits in a dungeon chosen at random for Lost Relic. Florentius Baenius gives the quest at Fort Dawnguard once several Dawnguard side quests are done.
- Join the Dawnguard at Fort Dawnguard.
- Complete several Dawnguard side quests.
- Speak to Florentius Baenius when he offers Lost Relic.
- Travel to the dungeon the quest names.
- Find the Dawnguard Rune Hammer in the dungeon.
- Return to Florentius, who lets the hammer be kept.

The dungeon is picked at random, so the map shows Fort Dawnguard.
Gameplay Tips and Tricks
- Temper it at a grindstone with a Steel Ingot. The Steel Smithing perk doubles the improvement.
- It trains Destruction on stamina alone, which makes it a cheap way to raise that skill.

Upgrades
A Dawnguard Rune Hammer is improved at a grindstone with one Steel Ingot per improvement. The Steel Smithing perk doubles the improvement, so each quality tier needs less Smithing skill. An enchanted copy can only be improved with the Arcane Blacksmith perk.

Weapon Levels
Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.
Dawnguard Rune Hammer has the same damage at every character level.
