Five Stone ringed around two lengths of Wood make the Campfire, the first entry in the Lighting tab and the first thing most builders drop on a new plot. It dries you out, keeps the cold off, gives you somewhere to rest and sends heat up into whatever you hang above it.

How to Build It

It costs five Stone and two Wood and needs no crafting station, which is why you can place it the moment you step off the boat. It only sits on ground, natural rock or stone you placed yourself, never on a wooden floor. Rain puts it out, so give it a roof. Indoors it needs a vent or a chimney, or the smoke gathers under the rafters and starts hurting you.
