The Darkwood pole 2m is timber soaked black with tar, the short upright of the Supports tab and the first darkwood piece most builders reach for. It does the same job as a plain wooden pole, carrying load up from the ground, but the tar means the weather leaves it alone.

How to Build It

It costs two wood and one tar, built within range of a workbench. Tar comes from the pits in the Plains, so this is a mid game piece despite the low price. The reason to pay it is the weather: rain does not damage darkwood, so a darkwood frame can stand fully exposed where plain wood would need a roof over every joint.
