The Grausten medium pillar takes over where the small pillar runs out of strength. It is a full metre cube of Grausten that costs three blocks and sits under Supports. It is the workhorse upright of an Ashlands hall, stacked into piers that carry a stone floor or hold up a roof over a room too wide for posts.
How to Build It
Each one costs three blocks of Grausten, with a Stonecutter in range to build and repair. Stone weighs more than timber and does not burn, which is why halls in the Ashlands use stone piers rather than wooden posts. Run the pillars in an unbroken line from the ground and the floors above will hold without a single piece of wood in the frame.
