A Grausten roof is the Roofing panel of the Ashlands set: stone overhead instead of thatch or shingle, cut from Grausten and laid in 2x2 tiles across the top of a build. It earns its weight in the Ashlands, where the cinder rain soaks and wears whatever it lands on. A stone roof keeps all of that off whatever is underneath.
How to Build It
Each tile costs 5 Grausten, and you need a Stonecutter in range to place or repair one. Grausten is mined in the Ashlands, so you get the roof material in the same biome that makes you want it. Stone carries its weight straight down rather than out, so run walls or pillars up underneath it instead of hanging it off a long wooden span. The Grausten set also has fewer roof shapes than the wood sets, which is worth knowing before you design a complicated roofline around it.
