Widen a room past a couple of metres and the short beam runs out, so the Supports menu offers the Log beam 4m next. Two corewood buy a span that crosses from post to post without a pillar landing in the middle of the floor.

How to Build It

It costs two Corewood, with a Workbench within range. The long beam saves posts, but timber gets weaker the further it runs from whatever holds it up, so step the beams out from something solid rather than hanging one off the end of a wall and hoping. Straight log pieces take rain damage, so put them under the roof they hold up, or plan on repairing them.
