Crafted: Find the diagram at a random diagram spot or buy it from armorers in Skellige and the merchant at the sawmill northeast of Rannvaig. An armorer crafts the boots.
Looted: Solve the statues puzzle inside the monster den south of Trottheim on Faroe, the den from Scavenger Hunt: Cat School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 4. Another pair is in a chest on the ledge with the gargoyles during The Path of Warriors. A soldier can also drop a pair during An Eye for an Eye.
