Dudu is a doppler who lives in Novigrad in the shape of a halfling merchant, Dudu Biberveldt. His full name is Tellico Lunngrevink Letorte, and he is also called Penstock. He is an old friend of Geralt and Dandelion. Geralt searches for him in Novigrad while following Ciri's trail.
Lore
Geralt and Dandelion knew Dudu for years, even before they truly met him. They first spoke to him without knowing it, when he was in Novigrad wearing the face of Dainty Biberveldt, a halfling merchant and a friend of Dandelion. Dudu had taken Dainty's form to use the merchant's contacts for business of his own.
At first, Dainty was furious that he could not find the impostor meddling in his affairs. Then Dudu's investments began to bring in large profits, and the halfling changed his tune. He took the doppler on as a partner and introduced him to everyone as his cousin, Dudu Biberveldt.
Story
Before Geralt reaches Novigrad, Dudu, Ciri and Dandelion become tangled up in a disaster. Dudu crosses Whoreson Junior, one of the city's most ruthless crime bosses. Junior kidnaps and tortures him. In Ciri's Story: Visiting Junior, Ciri breaks into Junior's hideout and frees him. Dudu escapes having lost only one eye, which counts as good luck. Unlike Dandelion, he slips away from the Temple Guard by changing his form and melting into the crowd.
Dudu loves the theater and often watches Irina Renarde's mummers. He has even stood in for sick actors more than once, and with his gifts he makes a very convincing understudy. In The Play's the Thing, Geralt and Priscilla stage a play with a hidden message for him. Geralt spots Dudu in the crowd and pulls him on stage. Backstage, Geralt reveals his plan to rescue Dandelion.
In A Poet Under Pressure, Dudu takes the form of Caleb Menge and orders the Temple Guard to move Dandelion to Oxenfurt. The prisoner transport then falls into an ambush, and Dandelion goes free.
If Geralt kills Whoreson Junior, Dudu lands on his feet as usual. He takes on the form of his old enemy and seizes his business. He then announces that it is going clean, and puts all its dirty money into a legal and very profitable overseas trading company. In Payback, Geralt and Ciri visit "Whoreson Junior" and find Dudu wearing his face.
Relationships
Dainty Biberveldt is Dudu's business partner and calls him his cousin. Geralt, Dandelion and Ciri are his friends.
