Legendary Griffin Steel Sword - Mastercrafted is the NG+ variant of the Griffin Steel Sword - Mastercrafted, a Griffin School witcher gear item. It deals 291.8-356.8 damage at level 35 and gives +25% sign intensity. Its diagram lies in the ruins east of the Boxholm signpost in Skellige. It is a late-game sword at level 34 plus the NG+ starting level.
It also gives +50% crit damage, +10% crit chance and +5% bonus experience from humans and nonhumans, with 3 rune slots. Against the regular Mastercrafted sword, it raises sign intensity from 20% to 25% and doubles crit damage and crit chance. The sign intensity suits a signs build.
Set Bonus
The Griffin set is medium armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 11, Enhanced at 18, Superior at 26, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. The 3-piece and 6-piece bonuses come from Grandmaster pieces worn as a school set. 3 pieces: after a sign cast in standard mode with stamina, the next sign cast within 3 seconds costs no stamina. 6 pieces: Yrden traps are 40% larger, and inside the trap stamina regeneration rises by 5 per second, sign intensity by 100% and damage taken drops by 20%.

The Legendary Griffin Steel Sword - Mastercrafted diagram sits in a chest under rubble on the north side, reached by climbing the eastern wall. It replaces the standard diagram at this spot in New Game +, during Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 4, and a master blacksmith crafts the sword from it.
- Start Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 4 by finding any of its diagrams, or by buying Edwin Greloff's fourth map from Éibhear Hattori.
- Go to the ruins east of the Boxholm signpost.
- Climb up the eastern wall of the ruins.
- Loot the chest under the rubble to the north for the steel sword diagram.
