Manticore Armor is a medium witcher chest armor from Blood and Wine. It gives 240 armor and +25% crit damage at level 40, the highest crit damage of any chest piece outside NG+ legendary gear. It belongs to the Manticore set, which comes in a single Grandmaster tier. The diagram is in Lebioda's cave, found during Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Manticore Gear. It is a late-game find in Toussaint.

It also gives +5 maximum toxicity, +19% piercing, +24% slashing and +28% monster resistance. The set bonuses carry crits over to bombs and add alchemy charges. Together with the toxicity and the crit damage, they suit an alchemy and bombs build.

Set Bonus

The Manticore set is medium armor with a single tier, Grandmaster at level 40, plus an NG+ legendary variant. 3 pieces: crit chance and crit damage also apply to bombs, and bombs are thrown with no delay. 6 pieces: each alchemy item gets 1 extra charge.

How to Get Manticore Armor

  • Start the level 40 Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Manticore Gear in Toussaint.
  • Go to Lebioda's cave southeast of Gelenser Farm. The armor diagram comes from Merten's prayer.
  • A grandmaster craftsman crafts it. The quest Master Master Master Master! in Beauclair unlocks this craftsman.

Manticore Armor Map Location and Quest Guide

Merten's prayer, on the far wall of Lebioda's cave southeast of Gélenser Farm in Toussaint, gives Geralt the Manticore Armor diagram. The pin marks the cave, the second stop of Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Manticore Gear.

  1. Speak to Lafargue, the grandmaster smith in Beauclair, and ask about the Manticore gear to start Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Manticore Gear.
  2. Go to the Bastoy Prison Ruins and climb the standing tower to the room at the top. Loot the loose brick in the wall for the steel sword diagram and read the prisoner's journal.
  3. Go to Lebioda's cave southeast of Gélenser Farm and kill the panther at the entrance.
  4. Inside, check the prayer notes on the far wall of the large cavern until you find Merten's prayer.
  5. Read Merten's prayer to get the Manticore Armor diagram.

Map credit by Map Genie.

Notes

  • In NG+ the diagram makes Legendary Manticore Armor instead. It gives 245 armor at level 41 (+5 per level), +30% crit damage, +26% piercing, +33% slashing and +30% monster resistance.
