Wolven Steel Sword - Mastercrafted is the Mastercrafted tier of the Wolf School steel sword, a witcher gear item. It deals 284-348 damage at level 34. It gives +10% each to sign intensity, adrenaline point gain, crit chance and bleeding chance. Its diagram is at a sunken treasure marker far west of Byways in Velen. It comes late in the game.
Its even spread of bonuses suits a bleeding hybrid build that mixes swords, signs and adrenaline. The bleeding chance also feeds the Wolven set bonuses.
It gives +5% bonus experience from humans and nonhumans and has 3 rune slots.
Set Bonus
The Wolven set is medium armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 14, Enhanced at 21, Superior at 29, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. The 3-piece and 6-piece bonuses come from Grandmaster pieces worn as a school set. 3 pieces: each bleeding effect on an enemy raises sword damage by 1% per set piece worn. 6 pieces: each adrenaline point raises how many bleeding effects can stack on one enemy.

The pin marks a sunken ship far west of Byways in Velen, marked by its mast. The Wolven Steel Sword - Mastercrafted diagram sits in a chest below deck, right behind the stairs. It turns up during Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 5, and a master blacksmith crafts the sword from it.
- Start Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 5 by finding any of its diagrams, or by buying the worn-out and faded notes from Éibhear Hattori.
- Swim or sail to the sunken ship far west of Byways.
- Kill the drowners around the wreck.
- Swim down the stairs below deck.
- Loot the chest right behind the stairs for the steel sword diagram.

Notes
In NG+ the diagram makes Legendary Wolven Steel Sword - Mastercrafted instead. It needs level 34 plus the NG+ starting level, with a minimum of 59, deals 464.8-568 damage at level 59 and raises each of the four main bonuses to 15%.
