Elizabeth Peralez is the other half of the Peralez duo: a lawyer and the wife of the mayoral candidate Jefferson Peralez. She is poised, self-possessed and calm, and the courtroom is her natural home. She gave up her legal career to run her husband's campaign full time. She hires V twice, first to look into the mayor's death and then into their own home.

The Lawyer

Elizabeth earned her law degree at a top university on a Night Corp scholarship, and there she met Jefferson. She practised law for some years before leaving it to support his campaign. She knows Judy Álvarez from an earlier matter, and Judy recommends V to her.

Two Investigations

Elizabeth first calls V with a reserved offer of work. The couple suspect that the death of Mayor Lucius Rhyne was not as peaceful as the media claims, and they give V a braindance of his last day. If V reports back carefully, Elizabeth calms her husband and urges caution.

Later she contacts V again. She fears that their security firm is doing something behind their backs, and V discovers that it is altering the couple's minds. Elizabeth then meets V in secret and admits that she has long suspected someone was steering their lives to put Jefferson in the mayor's office.

Elizabeth is controlled, careful and intelligent. She thinks before she speaks and weighs every risk. She is more cautious than her husband and more willing to accept a hard truth to keep them safe.
