Hasan Demir is a Zetatech engineer who thought he had caught his big break when he landed a corporate job. In truth, Zetatech had caught him. His knack for solving problems made him a good engineer and an even better con man. His cleverness is diluted by clumsiness, so he usually has more luck than sense, but somehow he always lands on his feet.

The Runaway

Hasan gave his life to Zetatech and felt he never got enough back for it. When he decided to run, he did it boldly: he fitted a prototype eye implant into his own head so he could escape with it and sell it later. The prototype is worth a fortune, as it could one day outsell even Kiroshi's famous optics. Johnny points out the irony of a man with stolen tech in his head, so much like V with the Relic.

Dogtown

V meets Hasan in Dogtown while he looks for a way to cash in on his eye. Zetatech wants its property back, and Hasan needs help to get out of the trouble he has made for himself.

Hasan is clever, convincing and reckless. He makes bold moves without measuring how dangerous they are. He is bitter about how his company treated him.

Zetatech is his former employer. V helps him in Dogtown.

Hasan's fate depends on V. He can have the implant safely removed and open a shop, living in peace afterwards. He can be escorted out of Dogtown by Zetatech soldiers, never to be seen again. Or he can sell the implant to a buyer who has it ripped out carelessly, leaving him with an empty eye socket on the pavement. In that case he ends up in a squatters' camp and refuses to speak to V again.
