The Ash of War: Raging Beast is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Keen affinity and the Raging Beast skill. It is one of the expansion's additions, found in the Land of Shadow.
Raging Beast makes a swift beast-like step in any of four directions, then leaps high and slashes down on the foe. The step has invulnerability frames, letting the skill double as a dodge, and a strong attack input adds a follow-up leaping downward slash. The leap deals solid stance damage and closes distance quickly. It suits Dexterity builds running beast claws that want an aggressive dodge with a punish built in.
Stats
It grants the Keen affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Heavy, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood or Occult. The skill costs 7 FP. It fits Beast Claw.
How to Get Ash of War: Raging Beast Guide
- Dropped by a teleporting Teardrop Scarab in Scadu Altus, on a small hill east of the road that leads north from the Bridge Leading to the Village Site of Grace near the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum.
- The spot lies southeast of the Cathedral of Manus Metyr and northeast of Bonny Village, and the scarab is slightly visible from the road.
- Once obtained, it can be duplicated by trading Lost Ashes of War to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold.

Skill
The direction of the initial step follows the movement input, so it can sidestep an attack and then pounce in the same motion. The strong attack follow-up should be used when the first leap lands on a staggered or recovering target. Against players the invulnerability window is shorter, so it is safer as a punish than as a pure dodge.
