The Ash of War: Rain of Arrows is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Standard affinity and the Rain of Arrows skill. It is a mid-game find in Caelid.
Rain of Arrows takes a low stance with the bow, then fires a gravity-charged arrow into the sky that brings a shower of arrows down on the target. Each arrow deals less than a normal shot, but many of them land in one use, which adds up to more total damage and good status buildup. It consumes only a single arrow per volley and can hit flying targets. It suits archers fighting large enemies, groups of animals or targets behind cover.
Stats
It grants the Standard affinity. The skill costs no FP. It fits Light Bow, Bow and Greatbow.
How to Get Ash of War: Rain of Arrows Guide
- Take the "Redmane" Painting from Sellia, Town of Sorcery in Caelid, then travel to the place it depicts: a cliffside ledge below Fort Faroth, southeast of the Minor Erdtree in Greyoll's Dragonbarrow.
- The spirit of the painter appears briefly at the cliff edge, and the Ash of War is left in his place.
- Once obtained, it can be duplicated by trading Lost Ashes of War to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold.

Skill
Locking on before firing drops the volley directly on the target, while firing unlocked drops it on the wielder's own position. Light attack fires from the first arrow slot and strong attack from the second, so two arrow types can be kept ready. It is most effective against large targets and clustered enemies, and much weaker against small, mobile foes.
