The Longbow is a Bow in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Early game. It is found around Roundtable Hold, in the opening stretch of a run, so it is one of the first real upgrades you can carry.

Why Players Pick It

The accessible one and second-highest in class: 80 physical at +0, 196 at max, 9 Str / 14 Dex, 4.0 weight. Samurai starting equipment, otherwise 1,200 runes from the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold. Four points of max attack rating (AR) behind the Albinauric Bow that you can have in hour one.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at E and Dex at D, so Dex is the stat worth levelling, and you need Str 9 and Dex 14 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling.

Notes

Longbow made to fire arrows over great distances. Compared to a shortbow, arrows fired reach further and deal more damage. To use a bow, arrows must also be equipped.
