Crumbling Farum Azula is the ruin of a great city that floats in an endless storm above the sea, east of the Lands Between. It is reached from the Forge of the Giants after the Erdtree is set on fire. Beastmen with red lightning and Ancient Dragons guard its broken halls. Maliketh, the Black Blade, keeper of the Rune of Death, waits at its summit. It is one of the last regions of a run.

Lore
Farum Azula was once the royal city of the Ancient Dragons. It was the seat of Dragonlord Placidusax, who reigned before the Erdtree. The city has been crumbling since time immemorial. At its heart rages a storm beyond time, where the Dragonlord waits for his god to return.
Ancient Dragons lie buried in the rock between the catacombs of the Beastmen and the surface. Their bodies still hold gold. They are said to have formed a living wall to guard their lord. Today the city is a tomb watched over by chosen Beastmen.
Maliketh, the Black Blade makes his home here as the guardian of the Rune of Death. In this place the Tarnished frees that rune and lets death loose on the Lands Between again. The flame of ruin then burns through the thorns around the Erdtree.
Geography
The Tarnished wakes at the south bridge of the city after resting at the Forge of the Giants. The Crumbling Beast Grave leads up to the Dragon Temple. The Godskin Duo guard the temple's main hall. Broken bridges, lifts and floating ruins lead on to the Great Bridge and the summit. A hidden path down from the Beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace leads to Dragonlord Placidusax.
A waygate at the Four Belfries in Liurnia leads to a small, cut-off piece of the city long before the main visit.
Bosses
The Godskin Duo guard the Dragon Temple, and Maliketh, the Black Blade waits at the summit as the Beast Clergyman. Dragonlord Placidusax waits in the storm at the heart of the city. Ancient Dragons roost on the floating ruins.
