Dragonlord Placidusax is a legendary boss in Elden Ring.
Dragonlord Placidusax is the ancient dragon who ruled as Elden Lord before the Erdtree. He waits at the heart of the storm beyond time, hidden in Crumbling Farum Azula. His wide lightning storms, fire breath and teleports make the fight chaotic. Defeating him yields the Remembrance of the Dragonlord.
Lore
Placidusax is a vast ancient dragon with two heads, his body grey like stone and his wings inlaid with gold. Stumps mark where more heads once grew. Red lightning crackles around him at all times.
In the age before the Erdtree, Placidusax ruled as Elden Lord over the ancient dragons from the royal city of Farum Azula. The ancient dragons protected their lord as a wall of living rock. Bayle the Dread betrayed him and left him gravely wounded.
When his god fled, the Dragonlord withdrew to his seat at the heart of the storm beyond time to await its return. Farum Azula became his mausoleum, guarded by the Beastmen.

Phases
- Phase 1: Placidusax calls down lightning storms, breathes fire and lightning and strikes with claws, wings and tail.
- Phase 2: he becomes far more mobile, teleporting around the arena between attacks.
Attacks
- Lightning storm: large lightning bolts strike across the arena at the start. Running toward him keeps clear of them.
- Breath attacks: sweeping fire and red lightning from his heads. Moving behind his wings avoids them.
- Wing slam and tail swipe: wide sweeps around his body. Standing near the base of the tail by the hind legs avoids both.
- Teleport: he vanishes and reappears elsewhere before attacking. Locking on helps track him.
- Explosion charge: he charges up a huge blast of lightning. Running away as it builds avoids it.
Tactics
- Buff and summon before approaching the inner ring of pillars, which starts the fight.
- Run in close at the start to avoid the opening lightning bolts.
- Stand near the base of his tail and behind his wings.
- Keep his head in sight to read his next move.
- Cast Flame, Protect Me and Golden Lightning Fortification, and use the Flamedrake and Boltdrake Talismans.
- Summon spirit ashes such as Black Knife Tiche or the Mimic Tear Ashes, especially for phase two.
